The Texas Charter School Academic & Athletic League works to aid the individual growth of Texas' charter school students, by using academic and athletic competition, to promote teamwork a healthy lifestyle and the constant pursuit for academic excellence.
Vision
TCSAAL will develop and maintain annual sport leagues and academic competitions as a venue to showcase charter school students in Texas.
6-Man Tackle Football
TCSAAL will begin offering 6-Man Tackle Fall 2010-11
TCSAAL will follow the same 6-Man rules as UIL
(This will make it easier for your school to play non-District games)
UIL follows NCAA rules for 6-Man except for some exceptions click on the links above to see the NCAA football Rules and the 6-Man exceptions. IF TCSAAL has any separate exceptions we will post them here as that information becomes available.

Dear TCSAAL school,
Below is
more clarification on how 6-Man Tackle Football will work. You are receiving
this email because you have shown interest in participating. Some of this is
already different from what was originally announced. As this is a new
activity for us and a big endeavor for all of us we will continue to tweak
things to make it right. We need to know as soon as possible who will be
participating so we can figure out how many teams will be in each district
so your school will be able to schedule non-district games in order to fill
up your schedule.
TCSAAL 6-Man Tackle Football
How will 6-Man Work?
Unlike our other sports were we guarantee a certain amount of games (8 in most cases 10 in Varsity Basketball) in 6-Man Tackle Football you will only play every team in your district 1 time. If there are 4 teams in your district then you will play 3 regular season games or “district” games with us. You can schedule non-district games with other teams in weeks that we do not have games. If you have 8 teams in your district then you will play 7 games with us. Districts will be maxed out at 8 teams.
How will your school be charged for 6-Man Tackle?
There are 2 pricing options: Option A is for schools that have a facility to host their home games. Option B is for schools that do not have a facility to host their home games:
The Prices will be as followed based on how many games you are scheduled (No refunds for forfeits)

6-Man Tackle Football (Please note your team will probably play some Friday and some Saturday games - only 1 game per week)
District games will usually be played at the end of the season. For example if your district has6 teams in it then you will have district games in weeks 3 – 7 for the most part.

6-Man Tackle Football Playoffs: 10/30/10
Schools can schedule non-TCSAAL games to fill in their schedule when you do not have a District game. Only District Standings matter when determining who advances to playoffs. The top team from each district regardless of district size will advance to the playoffs. (Playoffs will be single elimination.)
